The provision for children's development and learning is guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage (2021), taking into consideration Development Matters (2021), Birth to 5 Matters (2021) and OPAL (Observing Play and Learning). Our provision reflects the unique child, positive relationships and enabling environment. Children are assessed regularly using the above documents in the following areas
Our Provision
At Wheatcroft Preschool, we have a well-organised indoor provison and extensive outdoor area. We follow the children's interests through ‘In The Moment’ planning. Our core provision includes the following opportunities:
CORE PROVISION | Indoor craft area | indoor sand/water messy | mark making area | playdough | table tops for jigsaws and games |
snack and cooking area | small construction | story corner with YOTO and puppets | home corner | core story approach | small world |
secret garden | digging area | planting | sheltered outdoor music area | large sand pit | water play with cascading waterfall |
reading den | bikes and cars | grassed area | tractor tyres with gravel for digging | secret garden | large scale building |
Extra activities
Throughout the year, we fundraise and use EYPP to provide of additional activities - for example ...
Visits to the local schools for events such as their Nativity and also for school transition.
Zumba sessions with a local Zumba Instructor for the oldest children in the Summer term.
On of our staff members is a keen Yoga enthusiast and we have Yoga mats so we can do this with the children
